Join us for a book presentation featuring Julia Escobar Villegas in conversation with University of Cincinnati professor Mauricio Espinoza. The presentation will be in English, followed by a poetry reading in Spanish.

Julia Escobar Villegas hails from the Aburrá Valley and the mountains of Santa Rosa de Osos in Colombia. She has been following the course of the Ohio River for almost a decade: first from the hills of Cincinnati, and now closer to Hocking Hills. She currently works in corporate translation management in Columbus, where she cultivates a home with her human and canine loves, her writing practice, and her travels through books and around the world. She likes to sit in front of the fireplace, lie under the trees, share secrets with the birds, and let her mind roam to the sound of running water.

A territory for reading and being read in a language that binds us to a place whose geography grows ever more fluid — a language that shifts and shifts us, until we come to inhabit ourselves in words.

If you wish to participate, all genres welcome, all levels welcome.
We encourage you to do so in Spanish or in other languages.

This is a call for poets, storytellers, filmmakers, photographers, playwrights, actors, and creators in general to get in touch and be part of the monthly program of this space.
